KLCI naik 30 points

WTF?! This is crazy. Like a freak of nature.
Is this a bull trap, or is this for real?

I can’t believe it. By noon, it was already up 20+ points. At the end of the day, dah naik 30+ points. I had expected the market to react positively toward Budget 2009, especially so after so much negativity for quite some time. Tak sangka naik so much in anticipation of a so-so budget. Seriously, our bourse is so ‘Malaysia Boleh’. I guess people expect Pak Lah to give out lots of goodies to ampu the rakyat.

Let me hazard a prediction…
KLCI will hold around the same level on Tuesday with lots of profit taking. On Wednesday, drop around 10 points. After that, market behaves as usual.

I bought YTLPOWR-WB at 0.470. Seeing that it naik to 0.525… a bit tak boleh tahan. So I put in my order to sell at 0.555. I d@mn greedy wei. Highest it went was 0.540. If I can sell for 0.555, then can makan Dragon-i, aye? Let’s hope I get to sell it at my greedy price on Tuesday. Then hope it jatuh gila-gila so that I can bottom fish. Nyek nyek nyek!

Anwar wins… So how now?

A little less conversation, a little more action, please
All this aggravation ain’t satisfactionin’ me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and baby satisfy me
Satisfy me baby
A Little Less Conversation by Elvis

————————————————–

This comes as no surprise. Seriously, you didn’t actually think that Arif Omar Shah, brother of one Amin Omar Shah (who was commissioned to build 9 naval vessels for our Royal Navy — never delivered, promptly declared bankruptcy, and disappeared) would actually pose a threat to Anwar, did you?!
[For the Permatang Pauh buy*-election info/updates –> hsudarren.blogspot.com ]
[ *pun intended. X^D ]

So Anwar is happily sent back to the parliament. Apa macam sikarang?

As much as I loathe BN, I have little confidence in PR (Pakatan Rakyat) at the moment. Too much talk, but not much walking. Too much drama, but not much action. Heck… it’s like watching Dragonball cartoon on RTM1.

Son Goku standing half a mile away from his opponent, both hand together and tucked to the side of his stomach, exchanging macho crap, staring at each other, camera zooming from one guy to another… then comes the stupiak Ding Dang or Tora ads [for Ding Dang/Tora nostalgia click here & there], more macho talk and staring, more Ding Dang/Tora ads… and the cartoon ends prematurely with another round of Ding Dang/Tora. Half and hour of my childhood wasted, waiting for Son Goku to tembak… one. Bl00dy. Hadouken.

Eh, PR dudes… where’s the shadow gahmen lah? If you are serious about forming the next cabinet, show us that you are ready. Tell it to my face the cliche: “I was born ready!“. Show us that you really want it… and you want it bad! With a proper shadow cabinet, the take-over process will be much less chaotic and swifter. Just look at the Selangor state gahmen electing its councillors… adui, so d@mn slow, so d@mn cacated, so d@mn confusing.

OK lah, since you guys are still n00bs…
No need shadow cabinet. How about portfolio/issue-based committees, aye?

  • Each committee targets a specific portfolio/issue, e.g. education, economy, transportation, religion, racial issues, etc.
  • PR MPs will join whichever committee they prefer.
  • The committee members’ role is to dig every single hole for research.
  • The head of committee’s roles are to
    • be the evangelist of that portfolio/issue,
    • gather info/intelligence from committee members & public,
    • hammer the corresponding BN minister ’til kingdom come,
    • swamp those BN mutha-f*ckers with facts, figures and statistics.

————————-
*additional bits and bites…
And oh, don’t forget about the federal budget too. DAP had an alternative budget last year. Since you’re taking over the gahmen on Sept 16, that’s awfully near the traditional Federal Budget season in October. You guys (PR) might want to start sharpening your pencils now. I want too see an real+workable alternative budget from PR — focused on improving the economy, creating better jobs & using the petrol money for nation building (please stop harping on and on and on about using Petronas money for petrol subsidy already — the damage is done). Start by reading malaysiafinance.blogspot.com for some ideas (e.g. China’s stimulus plan, his suggestions on how to improve SC and Bursa Malaysia, and many other good sh!t).
————————-

With a loose coalition as it is now, it just shows that PR is content with the position of denying BN 2/3 majority. Liddat no need to talk about forming new gahmen lah. Waste our time listening to you guys talk cock only.
When the time comes, it’ll be one big messy rojak with every MP fighting over each other for minister post, and DAP-PKR-PAS bickering about the number of minister post each party holds. And the old sore of DAP-PAS-religion-secularism thing will explode again [Karpal Singh will start this fight like he always does]. And as usual, the country runs on auto-pilot.
Same drama, different actors.

Killer software I use

I reformatted my laptop 2 days back. It was running way too sloooowww to do anything productive. There’s too many security softwares and various junk I installed (antivirus, anti-spyware, trojan hunter, anti-rootkit, anti-this, anti-that… anti-productivity).

After the reformatting, is the re-installing of necessary software. I’m going to list a few software so good, you’d piss in your pants. And that includes some pretty cool Microsoft software too!

GASP!! Microsoft?! Good and perfectly recommended apps by the Evil Microsoft?! (Marktrix, I can hear you. X^D )

Drop me a comment to ask me questions, or tell me the killer software you use. =)
Here goes:

Windows Live Writer
(independent download page; Windows Live webpage)

If you write a blog, this is DA SOFTWARE. End of story. This post was written using it — offline. Compatible with Blogger (Blogspot), WordPress, TypePad and a few others. It is also possible to add plug-in s like Flickr plug-in, Facebook photo plug-in, etc…
[Just click the links and read yourself.]

IE7Pro

If you have Internet Explorer 7(IE7) on your PC, just shut up and download it already. It’s an add-on to IE7. It’ll turn your IE7 into IE7 “on-double-shot-steroids” Pro. It’s got session management, an independent download manager called MiniDM (I love this little piece of app, you can open it without IE7. In fact, I make MiniDM start with my WinXP), mouse gestures (almost as good as Opera’s — I can’t live without it), etc…
The first thing I always do to a new computer is to download Opera and make it the default browser. It’s been 3 days, and I’ve yet to install Opera. The only downside: it is still IE7 no matter what. Haih…
Do the IE7Pro team a [monetary] favour by using IE7Pro Search (Google based) as the default search engine.

Opera
The fastest browser on earth

“The fastest browser on earth”. Really. Well… they’ve changed their tagline to “Simply the best internet experience”, and rightly so.
The only thing Opera can’t do is wipe your arse after you’ve pooped.

Session management, mouse gestures, cached back/forward button (especially useful when you are filling in forms as it retains everything you typed when you go back and forward, and there’s no lag), rewind+fast forward (this is a superb feature: Opera will search for ‘next’ button and click it to go to the next page of a website. The best part is it works with mouse gestures too!), RSS reader, Bit Torrent client, Widgets (you know Mac OSX’s Dashboard Widgets or Windows Vista Sidebar Gadgets? All those weather apps, calculator, converter, notes. Opera has them too! Is this crazy sh!t or what?!), reload picture (no need to reload the whole page just because 1 stupiak pic refuses to load), masking/masquerading as Firefox or IE, etc…
Die hard fans of Firefox or Safari (or Safari on Windows <– WTF… har har har!) or IE have no clue about the awesome sh!t they are missing.

Cons: Opera support major Web standards… and some websites make their themselves cacat by using non-standard IE code. Still a bit of kinks with Yahoo!Mail, and Flash applications (this one is Adobe/Macromedia’s fault).
I’m still figuring out which of the 4 browsers eat the most RAM.

Microsoft PowerToys for WinXP
(and other WinXP featured downloads)

Ahhh… the PowerToys. I have the Tweak UI, Calculator Plus & SyncToy 2.0 on my laptop. Tweak UI allows me to tweak various Windows features and usability to my preferences. If you like tinkering with Windows, but takut terkacau the Registry, use Tweak UI. Calculator Plus is an enhanced calculator that has a conversion and scientific function (what the original calculator should have been in the first place). SyncToy 2.0 is efficient and pretty powerful, but I seldom use it.
Another is the Photo Story 3. Google it to read what others say about it. Word has is that for a free software, it’s panoramic stitching tool is simply superb.

Resize.exe by Peter Bone

A stupidly simple photo resizer. If you don’t know how to use it, you need to have your brains removed and replaced by one from a chimpanzee. It’s small (<1MB), it’s simple, it’s speedy, it works… and it works perfect.
You don’t even need to install it. Just download, unzip, use. I have multiple copies of it all over my harddisk.

Irfanview

The granddaddy of all media apps. There’s no media in this world that Irfanview just can’t open or edit. Photos, videos, RAW files, Adobe Flash files, some music files (as long as you have the codecs). Simple to use, but with a bit of learning and probing and trials… you are able to harness it’s full ‘powah’.
Links: Ten things you can do with Irfanview

Windows Defender

A pretty decent anti-spyware. It’s free… so why not?
